Offline Name: Elsword Sieghart Age: 14 (in canon, he starts at 13 and becomes known as the Infinity Sword at 16) Canon: Elsword Sieghart (canon name) / Elsword (canon) Location: Pueblo West, CO
Original History: Elsword is kind of an ongoing canon, but here’s the basics (there’s also a thing here but I want to write this up okay):
Elsword Sieghart is the (initially) plucky younger brother of the leader of the Red Knights, Elesis. Elesis trained her brother in the Way of the Sword but one day mysteriously disappeared on a mission, and this really, really worried him.
Not long after that some bandit leader by the name of Banthus attacks the village of Ruben, where Elsword lives, and steals its El gem. They kind of need the El gem to live a la Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles but without the whole myrrh/miasma deal, so Elsword and two companions, genius mage Aisha and elf archer Rena, form the El Search Party to chase after the thief (and Elsword thinks hey maybe I’ll get to find my sister out there somewhere too!)
Their search takes them to nearby Elder province, where it turns out the local lord Wally hired Banthus to steal the El. The El Search Party storms the castle through a secret passageway to defeat him but Wally gets away while they destroy all his robots. It is about this time that Elsword gets his first job advancement. He has three options, but I’m basing this app off of his Infinity Sword self, so here he comes into possession of a mystical sheath, Conwell and becomes known as a Sheath Knight. Conwell allows him to manifest an additional sword during his attacks for quicker combo power.
The party, and some people in Elder, reason that he can’t have gone much farther than Bethma, so they go there. They do eventually find Wally after dealing with a local problem with lizardmen to gain the trust of the sheriff, but someone steals the El from under their noses and they end up crashing the airship they were on, killing Wally in the process.
They all wake up in Altera and realize they need to take care of this Black Crow mercenary group, who attacked the airship and stole the El only to hand it off to the King of Nasod. The reason for that last part is simple: their leader, Raven, has a mechanical arm that is also currently mind-controlling him. The El Search Party snaps him out of it and Raven agrees to join them. Eventually they make it to and destroy the Nasod King, get the El back and return it to Ruben. For a short time, all is well except that Elesis is still missing. Also for some reason some girl named Eve shows up who is the Queen Nasod. Eve joins them.
However, they get a message from the Feita region along the lines of “Please help us, demons are invading!”. Lento and Allegro, the overseers of the region, reason that the demons must be after the El Shrine there.
It is around this time that Elsword notices something odd: Over the course of his adventures, Conwell has been absorbing a lot of dark energy. Elsword consults with the Spirit of Conwell about what to do about it, but the only plan the sheath has to offer is incredibly dangerous - transfer all the dark energy to Elsword instead, which has a very real possibility of turning him evil - but he takes the challenge anyway and overcomes it. As a result of the energy absorption, he can now use a whole bunch of swords at once and becomes known as the Infinity Sword. With this new power, Elsword and friends are able to repel the leader of the invasion, Berthe, sending him back through the Gate of Darkness.
But not two minutes after they’re done in Feita they get a message from Velder, the next region over after that along basically the same lines: “Please help us, demons are invading!”. The city is already in really bad shape when they arrive and it only gets worse - after the Elgang fight their way to the palace in the center of the city and the guard decides to screw it and call for reinforcements, forcing the party to brawl their way back out of the city, through the trap the demons set for them.
To get reinforcements they go across the sea to Hamel! Only there are demons there too so they have to fix that problem. Here the party gains a new ally in the form of the guardian Chung, but it turns out the duke of Hamel has been conspiring with a demon (Ran) to steal the Water Seal and also Chung’s father is evil now. They end up saving the water priestess but Ran gets away, much to the dismay of Ran’s sister Ara, who reveals that Ran, formerly Aren, used to be nice but she’s not sure what happened that made him turn into a demon. Ara joins the party here.
They move on to the desert region of Sander, where, on an investigation into the old city, a mysterious succubus kidnaps the Wind Priestess, who had been visiting the town. The Caluso tribe, her caretakers, become furious, and at the same time the nearby Trock race invades Sander Village as well. The search party manages to deflect this two-pronged attack only to discover that the leaders of both of the two attacking factions had been mind-controlled by the succubus, Karis. They then proceed to pursue her into a giant monster and slay her.
Presumably more things happen after this but the content for it just isn’t out yet.
AU History: Elsword Sieghart was born to two extremely nerdy parents that got their names legally changed to something they thought sounded cooler when they were younger. His older sister Elisa managed to not have as dumb a name but is currently in the military (and, unbeknownst to him, is an occasional player of The World under the name Elesis).
At the moment, Elsword is just starting high school and has none of the combat experience or adventuring his canon self does, although he does kendo at the behest of his parents.
While he was still in elementary school, though, he met Raven, who was a boy who’d lost his left arm in a car accident and got a prosthetic one. Raven introduced him to The World once he was older, and is now a senior at his high school. One of the girls in his class, Aisha, won’t stop bothering him - they’re weird sorts of friends with each other; since Aisha is a lot smarter than Elsword is, she helps him with studying but acts pretty hard-to-get (not that Elsword is interested in her anyway).
Since he lives in a very dry, hot place with not a lot of entertainment around, he has to be driven pretty much anywhere. Naturally, he does not go on globe-spanning adventures because real life just doesn’t work like that.
Rena, Eve, Chung, and Ara’s counterparts are not people Elsword knows personally, but were members of the same guild he was in before in The World. Chung is Korean, or at least Korean-American, but as for everyone else I’ll leave it up to people that would app them.
Add? Who’s Add? Elsword doesn’t know anyone named Add.
Elsword really does not like his life. Mostly, he just puts up with it because of his friends and The World. He doesn’t like having been pushed into kendo by his parents as a result of being too weak, and he doesn’t like the consequences of being “that weird kid with the sword”. People in general - his classmates, his teachers, and his parents especially - are not a thing he wants to deal with on a regular basis. He’ll listen to them sometimes just so his parents don’t decide to stop him from playing, but other than that he tends to keep to himself.
He is, however, honest and terribly blunt, often to the point of being inappropriate, with anyone he’s actually close to - these people being Elisa, Aisha, Raven, and his (now ex-)guildmates, since they for the most part know who he actually is and don’t mind that, instead of subscribing to the popular opinion that he’s weird and not to be associated with. Now that Elisa is off somewhere else, though, he’s slightly more jaded, since he’s lost someone very important to him.
His public face in The World, however, is confident and self-assured, stemming from his belief that the game is the one thing he truly has mastery over. He isn’t afraid to demonstrate this, or belittle players with less skill, whether by PKing them (if his guildmates aren’t around; that’s the one thing he keeps secret from even them) or through a string of relentless name-calling.
There is one important thing that both his online persona and his real-life one have in common, and that is an intolerance for being insulted by a non-friend. If he detects a slight to his abilities, he will prove it wrong one way or another, and then usually respond to the person that made it with vicious comebacks.

PC Name: Conwell Race: Human. Better stats aren’t a reason to give up the human look, as far as Elsword is concerned. Class: Twin Blade. From his kendo experience, Elsword knows that one sword is limiting - having two, even if they’re both shorter, is better than one. In fact, at least twice as good. (A certain other red-clad video game protagonist may have helped this line of reasoning.) Appearance: Mostly as canon-IS, including the ridiculous mullet. Seriously, Infinity Sword, what the heck is with your hair. However, Conwell’s outfit is more red overall. Other:
Whose idea was it to make a field this wide? It was taking way too long to get from one Symbol Fragment to another, and it was getting boring. Then again, the desert outside was worse.
For that matter, where had everyone been since the reset? Everyone in Search Party had totally lost contact with him ever since that “update”. If you could call it that. The new features were cool, mostly (obviously he was going to make the most awesome-looking custom skills possible once he figured out how that editor worked), but some of them were kind of baffling - how’d these players that clearly had barely any idea how the game works get models with such good graphics?
It was hard partying without them, and he hated knowing that. He shouldn’t have to be depending on people. He couldn’t get anywhere in town without a ride. Well. Not anywhere he wanted to go, anyway. There was nothing for him, the “little kid” who was still too young to drive. Even Aisha still called him that. He couldn’t help but admit that for an annoying brat he still kind of liked the girl, which made it all the more puzzling that she’d suddenly dropped off the face of the Earth.
But at long last, he was finally at the last fragment chest, and like all the others, there was a fight waiting for him. Conwell drew his blades and rushed forward for the first attack.
