OU || Luna || Virtue's Last Reward || reserve

CHARACTER;
Age: ~5
Canon: Virtue’s Last Reward
Canon Point: Just following the Luna - End (so following her death in that timeline)
History: Luna’s wikia page is the best place to gather information on her past.
Appearance: Luna looks like this. Her cleric outfit would be very similar, but with a lot more uniformity of color, most of the dress being the dark purple, with the flowery designs scattered throughout more of the dress. She also would have a light purple cloak with a hood (matching the light purple of her dress), and a short stave with flowery engravings on it.
Re: OU || Luna || Virtue's Last Reward || reserve
Luna trusts others very easily and a lot more than she ought to. Within minutes, someone can earn her trust enough that she would gladly put her life their hands without a second thought. Unfortunately, this means that she is very easy to manipulate on top of being very easy to hurt emotionally. If her trust is betrayed, Luna blames the one who wronged her a lot less than she blames herself for being so stupid. Of course, it’s actually fairly easy to earn her trust back again at that point and simply hurt her again. In all likelihood, it would take her quite some time to actually start distrusting someone entirely.
It is literally impossible to drive Luna to actual anger. Because before even reaching that point, she would rather sink to self-deprecation and remove herself entirely from the situation. So despite being a very social creature, if Luna is upset enough, she will seclude herself for a short time - never for very long - and come to terms with the reasons as to why she is so upset. It is not in her nature to burden others with her problems, and she will go out of her way to make sure that her problems stay her own.
In her essence, Luna is a healer and a helper. She actively looks out for the well-being of others, usually over her own well-being as well. It is important to her that people live happy and healthy lives, which is why she loves medicine and healing so much. Also, because of her intelligent nature, Luna gladly researches cures to illnesses that have no cures as well as new and innovative ways to heal and fix the people that are brought to her.
It is also important to note that Luna lives her life by the Laws of Robotics set down by author Isaac Asimov:
A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
A robot must obey the orders given to it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.
And despite the fact that she is not aware of the 0th law, she does inadvertently follow it as well:
0. A robot may not harm humanity, or, by inaction, allow humanity to come to harm.
So the likelihood of Luna ever going out of her way to hurt someone, actively or passively, is pretty much zero. Labeling her a pacifist would make a lot of sense, seeing as she does not like violence between others either.
Race: Human - It’s funny because she fakes being a human through the entirety of her canon, and now she’s a fake human again, wow.
Class: Harvest Cleric - Luna’s morals refuse to let her actually fight, plus she has a medical license, so it only makes sense for her to be a cleric.
Abilities: Luna’s canon abilities lie entirely within the natural realm. She is very adept at using computers and hacking systems, and she is also a licensed medical professional. Mostly, she is good at retaining vast amounts of knowledge and relaying that information.
Items: Her necklace is the only thing that would be important for Luna to have, I think.
Other: N/A
SAMPLES;
Third Person: As a blast from some magic that Luna could not place burst behind her, she dove for the nearest cover, sliding across the ground in the process. Panting, she peered out from behind her hiding place - it seemed to be a large rock - and tried to pick out whatever had been attacking her.
This was what she got for separating from the group, even by accident. She was trying desperately to contact someone, anyone, but her fingers kept fumbling over the touchscreen and hitting the wrong buttons.
It was in that moment that she noticed she was bleeding. And then the pain kicked in. Pain and blood as felt on a human level were still things that Luna was trying to grow accustomed to, and she doubled over, hissing as she suddenly recognized all of the stinging from the tiny scrapes and bruises all over her body.
She could heal them, easily enough, but at the same time she knew that it would be better for her to grow used to these small pains as much as she could. So instead, she forced herself to ignore the pain and peer out towards her attacker again. The dust was settling now and she could see the shape moving slowly towards her. There was really nothing she could do offensively, but she would be damned if she went down without a fight of some sort...

OU || Rundelhaus Kode || Log Horizon || Reserved || 1/2
Age: 20
Personal Journal:
Contact Info:
Other Characters: N/A
CHARACTER;
Age: It's never explicitly stated, but he seems to be around 15-16 years old.
Canon: Log Horizon
Canon Point: Soon after he obtains the Magician Gauntlets after his party's expeditions into Lagranda Forest.
History: Rundelhaus was born as the third son of a corrupted noble family in Yamato, making him one of the People of the Land, aka the NPCs that inhabited the world of Elder Tale. He disliked the way his family acted and grew more and more enamoured by the freedom that the Adventurers had, so he eventually left his family and pretended to be an adventurer, taking on the Sorcerer class.
He winds up in Akihabara, one of the major Adventurer cities, and eventually joins a summer training camp made by the Round Table Alliance for lower level Adventurers. The summer camp takes him to the Sand Leaf Peninsula, where he's grouped up with Adventurers Tohya, Minori, Isuzu, and Serara. They, along with a few other groups, are sent to the Lagranda Forest dungeon to learn teamwork and raise their levels.
However, they have difficulties in the dungeon as they're forced to retreat from battles over and over again. Eventually, at Minori's insistence, the group sit down and talk to each other about the details of their moves, and make tactics and plans. With that done, they finally start working properly as a team and progress smoothly through the dungeon, obtaining the Magician Gauntlets, which they give to Rundelhaus, and even beating a powerful monster at the end of the dungeon called Burning Dead.
As this happens, Rundelhaus grows close to Isuzu, who eventually discovers his true identity as a People of the Land when she tries to add him to her friend list and fails. He makes her promise to keep his identity quiet, and the group proceeds like normal. However, their training camp is interrupted when the Event Raid of the Goblin King triggers as a result of the Adventurers' negligence. Both goblins and sahuagins, fish-like creatures, invade the Sand Leaf Peninsula, forcing the newbies and the trainers to defend the nearby town of Choushi.
However, Rundelhaus's group elects to go on the initiative and attack the goblins instead of waiting. This works beautifully as they take out several groups of goblins easily. However, the goblins' number begin to wear on the party and it culminates in an attack on the party by dire wolves and hobgoblins. With the party out of MP and struggling to survive, Rundelhaus decides to sacrifice himself by drawing the dire wolves away from the party and using a self-destructive move on them, eliminating them but at the cost of his life.
The party tries to revive him, but to no avail. Desperate, Minori calls for Log Horizon guild master Shiroe, who directs the party to keep healing and reviving him as he heads over to their location. When he reaches them, he refills Rundelhaus' MP and then revives him as a zombie for three minutes. During those three minutes, he forces Rundelhaus to sign a contract that grants him the subclass of Adventurer and bestows all their abilities, including respawning at the Catherdral after death. He dies and is subsequently revived at the Cathedral. There, Isuzu greets him, having returned to Akihabara using the Call of Home ability, and he promises not be reckless anymore and listen to her.
Appearance: Isn't he fabulous?
In The World, his clothing hasn't changed very much. At most it's gained a few more decorations and belts, and he also has more elaborate boots and gloves.
OU || Rundelhaus Kode || Log Horizon || Reserved || 2/2
The boastful side of him is somewhat of a front though, and once you get to know him, his true side reveals itself quickly. It's natural for him to flourish his accounts and be a little flamboyant, but before he truly got to know the Adventurers, he had amplified that aspect of him, believing that all Adventurers acted that way. But at heart, Rundelhaus is a very hard worker and takes pride in what he can accomplish, given his handicaps compared to Adventurers. Also, unlike what you would have expected from his facade, he is not the type to blame others for his own mistakes. While he may say harsh words when frustrated or upset, he doesn't actually mean them and believes that any failure in battle is due to him not putting in enough training and hard work.
Part of this is because of his nature as a People of the Land, who gain experience at a far slower pace than the Adventurers of Akihabara. He's only pretending to be an Adventurer, but he can't hide the truth to himself, and thus has a bit of an inferiority complex about it. So he does everything else he can to cover up that part and hide it from others, which includes his flamboyance and his effort to appear as if he knows everything, but train in secret whenever he can.
Rundelhaus is a very kind-hearted person. His wish to become an Adventurer is because he wants their power to help those cannot help themselves. He never berates or puts down others for their mistakes or failures either, usually choosing to cheer them up with praise and reassurance instead. He is also as loyal as, well, a golden retriever, as compared by one of his party members. His loyalty is so deep he would go as far as to willingly sacrifice himself to save his Adventurer friends, whom he knew could revive while he could not. This also proves he's fairly reckless, which when combined with his inexperience sometimes lands him in hot water. But he truly means good and really wants to help wherever he can.
Rundelhaus might appear to be flamboyant and arrogant, but unlike what you might expect from a person like that, he's not quick to blame others, and in fact works hard so he can help everyone around him. He's really much like a golden retriever, who are loyal and provide cheer to everyone around them. But as a party member or a friend, he's invaluable to have around.
Race: Human - He's human.
Class: Shadow Warlock. Originally in his world, his class was Sorcerer, and Shadow Warlock is the most similar to a Sorcerer.
Abilities: As a sorcerer class, Rundelhaus has a number of magic spells at his disposal. Below are the ones he's been shown to use. A majority of them are rather self-explanatory.
• Blizzard
• Flash Needles
• Freezing Wind
• Frozen Blade
• Icicle Ripper
• Lightning Cage
• Magic Light - This non-attacking spell is a standard of magic-using classes. It provides light around the area to allow the spellcaster and their party to see in dark areas.
• Orb of Lava - Rundelhaus's favourite spell. This fire spell has a 2 second cast time and a cooldown of 18 seconds, making it a fairly quick spell to recast. However, its high damage output and flashiness often draw attention to the caster.
• Serpent Bolt
Items:
Magician Gauntlets [Level 25: boosts the damage of magical attacks]
Apprentice Magician Robes [A high quality equipment for its level, but limited to users below level 30. It is an exclusive accessory for beginners.]
Feather Ring [Reduces the weight of items you are carrying and increases the amount you can carry. Other accessories are more effective in increasing arm strength and carrying capacity, resulting in this item being sold cheaply in the market, it is very affordable for beginners.]
Angel Brush [A magical brush that makes any hair or fur shiny and smooth. It's mainly used to increase trust and affection levels of mounts and pets, but Rundelhaus has no clue and loves to use it.]
Other: N/A
SAMPLES;
Third Person: Well, this wasn't the first time he'd somehow gotten himself separated from his party. He would have thought, after the long talk he had had with his party at home, he would be an expert at working with others, but it didn't seem like the others wanted to cooperate. In fact, this particular party outright laughed at him for trying to get to know their abilities better, but his pride and wish to train didn't let him back down and leave them to search for better party members.
Well, look where that got him now. They were laughing at him from a couple of metres away while he was surrounded by monsters, and doing absolutely nothing to help him. Even the Harvest Cleric, who had seemed far nicer than the others was not healing him and was instead betting on how much longer he'd last with the amount of HP and MP he had left. He gritted his teeth and his eyes flickered to his status screen, which was floating in his peripheral vision. He only had amount twenty percent of his health left, and he had enough MP for only one more spell. It really wasn't looking good for him.
But this was a different world. It wasn't like Yamato, where he knew he would die for good if he was downed in battle. And yet, he couldn't stop his hands from shaking, and his thoughts from wandering into 'what ifs'. What if this world was exactly like Yamato, and he would die for good here too, just because of who he was? The dread in his stomach grew as the monsters surrounding him continued to whittle his health down until finally he had only 10 HP left. One more hit would do him in. And still, his party members didn't help him.
Rundelhaus wanted to scream in fear, but he knew it would do no good. They would just laugh at him. But he couldn't just accept his death here! He had to get stronger, more powerful, so he could help people when they were in need! He hardened his resolve and reassured himself that he would get out of this somehow, but at that moment a goblin attacked him from behind, taking away the last of his HP and forcing him to crumple to the ground, defeated. This was the end, if it was like Yamato... but as his consciousness faded, Rundelhaus hoped that wouldn't be the case.

Re: OU || Thorton || Pokémon || reserved
He grew up in Sunyshore City, which is exactly what one would expect it to be: a sunny shoreline town on the eastern tip of Sinnoh. The city consists of three islands, connected by a series of solar panel walkways that provide power to many of the public buildings in town, including the Pokémon Center and Gym. The local Gym Leader, Volkner, built these panels shortly after he was appointed the position, right around the time Thorton was old enough to find something to do with his life. The kid was so amazed with Volkner that he decided to make mechanics and Pokémon his hobbies as well. It worked out quite nicely, since most other kids his age tended to sense something ‘odd’ about him, and being the best Pokémon battler in town did actually succeed in making him more respected – but not more liked.
After a few years, these “hobbies” grew into an obsession, the kind of obsession that landed him a very respectable job at age fourteen: the Hoenn Battle Frontier had just cleared the permits to create a Sinnoh-Johto branch, and was looking for Frontier Brains to populate its five arenas. Some way or another, Thorton landed in the position of Head of the Battle Factory. In response, Thorton began developing the Data-Analyzing Machine (DAM), which did exactly what it said on the tin: it analyzed data about opponents that Thorton could use to help him devise battle strategies. His coworkers were a bunch of adults, and the only other adolescents around were both intolerable – Caitlin was too haughty, and Palmer’s son was a bundle of destructive energy that Thorton just couldn’t bring himself to deal with. So over the next two years, the four adult Frontier Brains (as that was what they were called) became the closest thing he had to a family; the five of them were all instrumental in designing the Sinnoh Battle Frontier, and when it finally opened its gates, it was as much a labor of love as anything else.
Here is where the history begins to move into actual canon. A young woman named Platina Berlitz strolled into the Battle Frontier a few months after it opened to the public, seeking information about a mysterious alternate universe known as the Distortion World. She then proceeded to defeat Darach (Valet of the Battle Castle) and Dahlia (Star of the Battle Arcade), neither of whom knew anything about this Distortion World other than that it was a thing. Dahlia recommended she ask Thorton, though, since they were apparently talking about the Distortion World earlier, and he knew much more about it than she did. So the two of them trotted over to a videophone and rang Thorton up… only to watch him fly offscreen from an explosion, and then get up and greet her as if nothing had happened. Before Platina could ask about the Distortion World, though, the connection started to fail. Tower Tycoon Palmer and Hall Matron Argenta began taunting Thorton over the video feed, asking if it was ‘that strange machine’ which caused the disturbance, but the feed died before Platina and Dahlia could hear him explain what the actual problem was.
Platina decided that the only way to get an answer from Thorton was to meet him herself, so she went off to the Battle Factory. Rules of the Battle Factory dictated that the Trainer may not use their own Pokémon at all; instead, they were forced to choose a team from six randomly generated Pokémon in the Factory’s possession. Platina blazed through easily, but Thorton was watching her the entire time, watching her strategies so that he could develop counters if and when she faced him. Eventually, the time came where she did – and after a very awkward introductory conversation, during which Thorton shoved his Data-Analyzing Machine in her face and rattled off percentages like no tomorrow (Thorton’s projected win likelihood was 93%), the battle began.
Long story short, after a lot of boasting from Thorton about his superior intellect, Platina managed to outwit him twice and earned her win. And in response, Thorton… um… well, he basically pitched a huge tantrum. (Sample dialogue: “UWAH! NO! I WON’T ACCEPT THIS! I WON’T ACCEPT IT! I DIDN’T LOSE AT ALL!!”) This continued until Argenta finally slapped him across the face and told him to behave. Grudgingly, Thorton handed over a print (proof of win) to Platina, and conversation turned to a more pressing matter: that weird power outage from before. Apparently, peculiar waves were being emitted from the nearby Stark Mountain, and those waves were the reason the call had been cut off before, as well as the reason Thorton’s DAM had messed up so much. The waves were the work of a group known as Team Galactic, who had caused serious trouble in mainland Sinnoh; however, after their leader ‘mysteriously disappeared’, they were assumed gone. Clearly this was not the case.
The plot continued. Platina defeated Argenta, and a friend of the Frontier named Riley captured a damaged Team Galactic surveillance bot, which he handed off to Thorton to fix. He assured Palmer that he could fix the thing. And he did. Within a matter of days, the Frontier Brains, Riley, and Platina were summoned again; the robot was completely operational… but Thorton wasn’t. He had literally dedicated every minute of his time to fixing the thing, and secondary obligations like ‘sleep’ took a back burner. So after a few mumbled contributions to the following conversation, Thorton fell asleep on the floor. He was so exhausted that Argenta could literally drag him across the floor and slump him on a railing, and he was still out like a light.
So he slept. And slept. And slept. And when he woke up, he was wearing something completely different and standing in the middle of Mac Anu.
Appearance: Here’s what he looks like in canon. Huge nerd? Huge nerd. In the World, he follows the peculiar Steam Gunner tradition of “ornate patterns on a massive amount of fabric”. The colour scheme of his outfit is the same, but owing to his status as a mechanic in this world as well as a Gunner, there are numerous differences. He still wears a vest with green accents over a long-sleeved white shirt, but there are brown gloves on his hands. There’s also a strap across his back to carry the musket he carries. The belt is still there, but with a lot of other holsters and pockets in addition to the DAM/toolbox. The massively poofy green pants are also still there, but the stitching is more ornate, and he wears knee-high boots instead of sneakers. He also seems to keep a pair of googles on hand, hanging around his neck – because if he put them on his forehead, they would disrupt the everpresent bird hair.
Personality: Factory Head Noland of Hoenn once said, “Knowledge isn't only about reading books or doing desk work. Just doing that sort of thing... It may as well be useless! You have to experience things with your heart and your body, understand?”
Factory Head Thorton of Sinnoh clearly didn’t get that memo.
There’s no doubt in anyone’s mind that Thorton is a smart kid. He’s a genius, actually, and the pride he takes in his skill is not unfounded – mechanical behemoths fall to scrap before his robotic prowess, and as anyone who’s ever battled him could tell you, he could outwit an opponent blindfolded and half-drunk. But he’s also an insufferable brat with questionable priorities and some seriously weird communication skills.
The first thing that one is likely to notice about Thorton is that he’s a very emotional person, but next to none of that emotion comes through his face. In fact, it always seems to be stuck on an unimpressed, half-lidded expression, as if he literally couldn’t give half of a damn about anything happening anywhere – which is probably true. But Thorton also has a tendency to use wild hand and arm gestures to express the things that his facial expression doesn’t, which can get a little creepy when his body language implies he’s fuming mad but his face is as emotionless as ever. He also has the tendency to swing through moods; usually he’s able to keep his head by just saying whatever it is he’s feeling, but he’s also been known to launch into a full-on tantrum when put under too much stress.
You read that correctly. A tantrum.
Even past that, however, his social skills are… lacking. For one thing, Thorton is a smug son of a Houndoom – he thinks of himself very highly, and loves to let others know exactly how awesome he is. When he first meets someone he is very critical of them, but in reality this seems kind of like a test; if they pass, he’ll ease up. In battle, he’s even worse; when he’s winning, he constantly belittles and taunts his opponent, and when he’s losing, he steadily grows more and more agitated, meaning he makes more and more lapses in judgment. Predictably, this ends badly for him. He gets incredibly sulky whenever he loses a battle, or is outdone by someone in any way.
By nature, he isn’t an especially social creature. Most of his time is spent battling, running various administrator jobs around the Battle Factory, constructing and pulling apart electronics for no real reason, and maybe reading books or playing video games if he feels like being really unproductive. Thorton has a decent, if somewhat shaky, understanding of the abstract elements of feelings and communication (why a hypothetical person would want friends, for example), so he knows how it’s supposed to work – he just doesn’t have the experience making it work for him. (Or, to use the example: he’d have absolutely no idea how to make friends himself.)
Still, Thorton isn’t completely intolerable. Once he’s familiar with someone, he is capable of carrying on normal conversations (as long as that someone doesn’t mind his many verbal and physical tics), and does actually give credit where credit is due. Even the inflated ego seems like a normal, if exaggerated, side effect of just being a teenager. And to his merit, when he says he’s going to do something, he is going to do it – even if he has to sacrifice things like, say, food. Or sleep. Or sanity. Thorton may not be the most fun to be around, but he’s a valuable and loyal ally to have.
It would be difficult to talk about Thorton without mentioning the rest of the Frontier Brains. They’re all fairly close, even the not-really-a-Brain Darach, and among them it’s an accepted fact that every member of the group is a little bit weird. Still, Thorton has proven his worth on multiple occasions, and even though the others might still make fun of him for being ‘just a kid’, it’s all in good fun – they’re mostly interested in getting a rise out of him, which in their defense is totally hilarious. At the end of the day, they are good friends – much closer than coworkers, to the point that Thorton (against his better judgment) finds himself thinking of the other Frontier Brains as a kind of twisted family. Argenta in particular, true to her title as Battle Matron, seems to have taken it upon herself to raise the boy ‘properly’, since he obviously didn’t get any decent parenting wherever he came from. As such, she tries to teach him manners, and isn’t afraid to smack him across the face when he’s gone too far out of line. Thorton actually listens to her, though, so she must have had some degree of success.
As per Battle Factory rules, Thorton has no Pokémon of his own, and each match’s team is chosen at random. So unlike most Trainers, he hasn’t actually had an opportunity to bond with his Pokémon. He is of the opinion that it doesn’t really matter, because the opponent is in the same boat; they’re using rental Pokémon too, right? So the opponent can’t base a strategy off of prior relationships with their Pokémon. It’s a level playing field. Pokémon companions? He doesn’t need them. Pshhh. No, definitely not.
One final thing to note, focused mostly on the games: Thorton is the only Frontier Brain in the Sinnoh Frontier to share a title with another Brain in the Hoenn Frontier. The Hoenn Factory Head is the aforementioned Noland. His philosophy to life holds knowledge in high esteem – but he also understands that going out and feeling your way around is just as important. Putting the two side-by-side, Noland’s reactions to pretty much everything are completely opposite to Thorton’s; when defeated, Noland encourages the player to keep up the good work, and is genuinely fired up for the rematch. Thorton just gets annoyed when he loses, and his encouragement of the player to come back sounds scripted. It seems that Noland was right all along – if Thorton can actually go out there and experience things for himself, instead of just reading about them, then in time he’ll probably be able to grow out of his weirdness.
Probably.
Race: Still human, because Thorton has no reason to be anything else.
Class: Steam Gunner. The reasoning for this is relatively simple: Thorton prefers to keep his distance and analyze potential threats before acting, so therefore, a ranged combat class is preferable. His adeptness with machinery means that guns would be much easier for him to handle than any kind of magic.
Abilities: Thorton has no superhuman abilities – that’s what Pokémon are for.
Items:
[DAM] A handheld machine that Thorton developed himself. It has many of the functions of a PDA, but in addition to that, it is capable of collecting and analyzing data about enemies and other players: things like name, level, class, armor/equipment, HP and MP, etc. Requires a native power source to function in the World.
[DAM Box] A small black container that hooks onto Thorton’s belt. Generally, this is where he carries the DAM, as well as other assorted tools like wrenches, screwdrivers, spools of wire, and so on.
Other: Huuuuuuuuge neeeeeeeeerd.

Third Person:
Oh, the possibility was there, of course; the possibility was always there. Every single thing left to chance could easily stack against you. All the attacks strike critical, all the mana gets burned, all the chests hold monsters. Checkpoints? Don’t even think about it. And of course… of course… they had gone and stumbled into the boss room. It could’ve been this or it could have been a respite chamber, but of course, they’d spun the wheel and lost. Again.
Thorton glanced to the right at the other living member of the party, a Blade Brandier who didn’t look too hot herself. Their cleric was dead, took too long to cast a spell. The Macabre Dancer had counted on his buffs to protect him; they didn’t. It was probable that this floor was the end of the dungeon, so if they died, they would have to retrace their steps down all fifteen floors. There had to be some way to get out of this, but what could that possibly be—
“Out of the way!” Acting primarily on impulse, Thorton dashed for a nearby pillar. The Brandier followed suit, desperate for any guidance at this point. In the circular cavern they found themselves in, there were probably something like ten of them, all in varying states of disarray. If the monster so much as stomped too hard it could send one of the pillars crumbling to the ground, which could either impede their movement around the perimeter of the room or crush them entirely.
“Got any bright ideas?” the Brandier asked critically, clutching her shoulder.
“If you’d be quiet I could figure something out,” he snapped back.
She growled, but lapsed back into silence.
Thorton took stock of the rest of the room. On the opposite side, well above them, there was an oddly-coloured rock jutting out from the wall. The ceiling was covered entirely with huge stalactites. He had ample ammunition. It could just be a regular bit of wall, and the gunshot would alert the monster to their presence, but if that really was a switch for something…
“Move a few pillars down,” Thorton told the Brandier. “Stay quiet. I’ve got this.”
Two minutes later, the boss had been crushed under a massive pile of rocks, and neither of them had taken a single point of damage.

Canon: Inazuma Eleven GO!
Canon Point: Post-Ep. 19 of Galaxy, after the Earth Eleven leave for outer space, leaving Kariya and the rest of the Raimon squad behind.
History: Here is a link to Kariya's wiki entry. If that's not clear enough, you can also have this write-up of the major points of his role in canon.
Appearance: Here are some images with a pretty good overview of Kariya's canonical appearance! In The World, his normal outfit will resemble his Raimon soccer uniform with his training jacket worn open over the jersey. However, the designs on each will have gotten much less clean-cut and more elaborate, making them look hand-made instead of mass-produced for the entire team.
In addition, since he's getting shoved into the Lei Tribe (see below), his in-game model will end up with some vaguely feline features: markedly cat-like eyes, a small set of feline ears poking out of his hair, and a rather fangly smile.
OU || Masaki Kariya || Inazuma Eleven GO! || expired reserve
Kariya takes the term “two-faced” to almost literal extremes.
Catch a glimpse of him in public on your average minute of the day, and you’ll see a boy who is quiet, polite, and, while perhaps insular or even shy, friendly enough to those around him. He’s not the type to jump into social situations on his own initiative, but he’ll smile and play nice if they come to him of their own accord. This is the Kariya that his teammates first witness off of the field, when he arrives at Raimon: A well-mannered youth who seems to do his best to be unobtrusive without quite turning into the fragile or wilting type.
But a (very) attentive eye will notice snatches of something different, playing out in Kariya’s eyes and expression. Particularly when no one worth noting seems to be paying him attention, his features can fill with exasperation and suspicion directed towards those around him – as well as a calculating harshness that says he knows just how to take advantage of his trustworthy looks.
The thing is that, truth be told, he generally does, too. Kariya is a natural hand at manipulating others, mostly because he has such a knack for observation. With just a few glances, he can usually pin what someone’s impression of him is, what their temperament is like, and so on. This set of skills is on full display in his rivalry with Kirino early on in his appearances: By his second day on the team, Kariya’s already worked out who’s suspicious of him, who’s naively trusting, and who’s unaware of the whole matter. He uses that information to his own advantage without hesitation, spreading false rumors about Kirino to players who can be expected not to suspect him while playing the poor, put-upon victim to those likely to be sympathetic. Kariya is good at these kinds of deceptive games, and he knows it.
He would probably like to tell himself – sometimes, at least – that the shrewd, cynical side he tries to keep out of view is what he’s really like, deep down. Clever enough to use people to his advantage, far too smart to be used, and certainly not harmed in any way by always standing off from the rest of his peers…that’s a self-image he’s not above enjoying. (He takes visual pleasure, for instance, in dangling the possibility that he’s a mysterious and dangerous SEED over Kirino’s head.) To a great extent, though, this side of Kariya is a defensive mechanism, part of his reaction to the damaged trust that the loss of his parents prompted. Being wily and vicious would not only mean that he couldn’t be harmed by being taken advantage of again but that, even if he were, he wouldn’t have to care.
That’s all to say that what can look like the sweet “front” to Kariya’s “real nature” has as good as claim to a central place in his personality as his harsher side. Thus, while he’s not above cruel pranks and jokes (e.g., playfully mocking new team members or tricking them into running into the goal posts), he can also be legitimately gentle and unassuming, the kind of kid who’s just content to be invited somewhere with friends and allowed to be part of someone else’s social circle. Likewise, while he likes to play cool and in control, his self-confidence can be markedly precarious: Having others declare that they trust or are relying on him makes him uncomfortable, and even minor disapproval or criticism can get him flustered. (One of the series’ running jokes revolves around Kariya’s terrible attempts at giving his teammates’ techniques impressive names. He’ll suggest something patently lame, everyone will have a good, innocent laugh over it – and, after the rest of the team is totally over it, there’s Kariya, still flustered and fuming and flushing.)
As should be clear, fear of abandonment is a motivation worked pretty deeply into the Kariya’s psyche, at this point. It affects even relationships far removed from the family realm which initially gave the poor kid the complex he has over it: Arguably, his entire spat with Kirino is at least a partial result of this worry – Kirino is a defender on Raimon’s team, like Kariya, and gives (mild) criticism of Kariya’s play soon after he joins the team, sparking the feud between them. Kariya seems to feel that he has to ensure that he’s the one who appears “necessary” (as he puts it to another teammate) to Raimon’s defense, while making Kirino look troublesome and expendable. The underlying thought, then, is that if anyone is going to be thrown away, it definitely won’t be Kariya Masaki. And the sad part is that Kariya leaps to these kinds of worries and defensive gestures when there’s no good reason for him to think he might be under threat somehow.
In the end, though, Kariya probably isn’t at all self-conscious about this inner balance between these sides of himself. He’s not nearly as cool and self-sufficient as he would like to think he is…but, then, he’s also not as sweet and unassuming as he can make himself look, either.
CRAU: N/A
Race: Beast - Lei Tribe. Kariya's abilities in canon fit pretty clearly into the Lei tribe's niche, since he relies on his excellent agility and speed to make up for the fact that he lacks some of the superpowered abilities his canonmates use to stand up to heavier-hitters. He's also just got something of a "feline" theme going on in canon: vaguely feline eyes, "cat-like" reflexes, etc. So, when he gets popped into The World, it's only natural that he gets shoved into the Lei Tribe mold.
Class: Tribal Grappler. It's a natural fit for Kariya's style in canon because of the reliance on close, physical interaction, quick reaction time, and agility...only with beating people up, instead of soccer.
Abilities: In canon, Kariya has two major abilities of note:
1. Enhanced Reflexes/Agility - Kariya has incredible reaction time and control of his movements. He's able to turn on a dime, perform some impressive tumbling without any specialized training, and dodge deftly between high-speed targets with little error. His coordination in particular is preternaturally good - at several points in canon, he's able to pull off physical feats related to balance and positioning that even his stronger teammates struggle at with long practice.
2. Hunter's Net - Kariya's "killer technique" on the soccer field, which allows him to conjure a net of strong, glowing pink mesh by slashing his fingers through the air. The resulting mesh is impressively strong (repeatedly stopping super-powered charges or shots) and appears to have a brief stunning effect on anyone caught in its net.
Items:
1. A completely normal soccer ball. Serves no useful purpose in-game whatsoever, but god he would go crazy if he was stuck somewhere indefinitely without one.
Other: Nothing else springs to mind!
SAMPLES;
Third Person:
There was something incredibly off-putting about strapping the gauntlets onto his wrists, Kariya thought.
It wasn't as though he'd never hit someone before or anything. He totally had -- though just the once, shortly after coming to Sun Garden, when one of its older kids had decided to start shoving into his space. (It was possible that he'd called the other boy a rude name or three beforehand.) But that was it. Everything else close to a scrap he'd ever gotten into had ended with pushing and grappling and then Hitomiko or another adult rushing to break the squabble up. Anything like a fight at Raimon, meanwhile, turned into a soccer match too fast to even think about decking people first.
Here, though, apparently punching things to death was what he was supposed to be all about.
"These don't even look dangerous," he muttered down towards the gloves covering both his hands. They were simply-made, the best he could spring for on his still shoe-string budget. And he was meant to just start...killing things with these?
"They're just computer game monsters, though. That's how stuff works in RPGs..."
A somewhat ragged sigh. That line of thought would be more reassuring if he wasn't just a computer-game character at this point, too. Thinking about that was distressing enough as things stood. When he factored in that none of his team was here, that he still had no place to stay, and that...
Nope. Not letting himself dwell on that anymore. With a firm shake of the head, Kariya clapped his hands down onto the ground where he'd been huddling outside the weapon shop, lifting himself back to his feet. He held his gauntlet-clad fists out in front of him and slowly, experimentally opened and closed them. Once. Twice.
If he just winged into it instead of brooding, maybe it would all turn out easy.
"Okay, let's go beat up some slimes! Or whatever."

OU | Natsuno Yuuki/Koide | Shiki | Reserve
Age: 30
Personal Journal:

Other Characters:
CHARACTER;
Age: 16
Canon: Shiki
Canon Point: Post-canon
History:
Natsuno was born to two parents who were somewhat unconventional. They never married and in the eyes of Japan, he was legally Natsuno Koide, after his mother's surname. Natsuno never did care too much for his parents. They were strange and the fact he had a different last name got him teased a lot when he was young.
When he was fifteen, they decided to move out of the city to the countryside, something that he really hated. Upon arriving in Sotoba, he was determined not to make any friends. He wanted nothing to do with the village, and he wanted to study hard and get into a university in the city so he could escape his family, and his home. Although his resolve was strong, he wavered and did make a best friend named Tohru Mutou.
The following summer, strange things began to happen. New neighbours from the city built a large mansion in the hills overlooking Sotoba and a girl who had a crush on him and continuously stalked him, turned up sick until she died. After this he couldn't shake the feeling that she was still watching him, despite knowing she was dead. This paranoia struck him hard and made him suspicious. He confronted the doctor and asked him if he thought Megumi had died. Despite not being taken seriously, he continued to dig around into the affairs of the small town. He came to believe that there were vampires - Shiki - roaming around his village and killing people off one by one.
His worry reached a climax when his best friend was attacked before his eyes by Megumi at a sleepover. Although he brushed it off as a dream at the time, when Tohru died a few days later, he knew what he had seen was reality. He was sad, but at the same time he wasn't entirely sure his best friend was dead. Just when he had vowed to take up arms against the Shiki and defeat them, Tohru comes to his window. Upon meeting face to face, Tohru runs and makes a break for it. Natsuno foolishly chases after him and after a confrontation with Megumi and one of the higher ranked vampires, Tatsumi, Tohru sinks his teeth into Natsuno's neck.
During his final days, he tries to convince Tohru to give up trying to kill him and offering to run away from the village with him. Natsuno offers him protection, but Tohru is hungrier than Natsuno can understand and after three visits, with a great deal of acceptance in his heart, Natsuno dies.
Like Tohru, Natsuno becomes one of the Risen, but he is different. He didn't die for as long, and he came back as a Jinrou, like Tatsumi. Although he has returned to life, he does not look at this as a blessing, but a curse. He feels that if he has died, then he should be dead. He vows to finish off the Shiki and save the townspeople, and actively works alone in the shadows to help the doctor, Toshio get rid of the plague once and for all.
Working with Toshio Ozaki, the town doctor, Natsuno plays a heavy role in destroying the Shiki - by taking care of the other Jinrou. He bites Toshio to save him, and controls the family steward into killing Yoshie. He takes on Tatsumi himself in a battle that he performs poorly, but he gets them to fall into the mass grave. At the last moment he pulls out dynamite and lights it, killing himself and Tatsumi while Sotoba burns around them.
Appearance:
The image can be found here.
Natsuno's appearance in The World is slightly different. He will be outfitted in black robes with yellow accents, a nod to the coat he was wearing when he died. Beneath his robes he wears capri length black pants, and sneakers. Atop his head are violet dog ears and a violet tail, all matching his natural hair colour, which remains unchanged. His canines are a little sharper than a regular human's, since he is a member of the Lei tribe.
Personality:
Natsuno tends to come across cold and unfeeling, however this is just a facade, in the sense that he does have emotions. A well of angry emotions, bubbling under the surface. He hides his emotions through rational thinking and doing his best to keep emotion out of most conversations. Natsuno dislikes his parents more than most people, as well as his name. He reacts with an angry snap if someone should call him by his given name, instead of his surname. In fact, when meeting someone new, he sometimes won't give his first name at all. He reacts to his parents with hostility, nothing they do is ever right, and he blames them for his own death. He shares different sociological views from them. He does not find the countryside quaint, romantic or enjoyable. He believes parents should marry to save their children heartache, and he believes in holding a steady job and getting a good education.
He believes in education being his key out of the situation he is in, enough to push himself to take addition courses outside of just going to school. He is incredibly studious. He hates the town he lives in, choosing not to engage with the local strangers around town, because he feels all they do is gossip. They refer to him as the artisan's son, something he hates, because of his resentment to his parents and their idea of work.
Natsuno has little patience for others, and is easily annoyed by them. He believes that everyone has a role in their minds for him to play, and he is not interested in playing it. Since moving wasn't his own choice, he came to resent the idea so much that he was determined not to make friends and only work on his school work. Natsuno has a great deal of resolve at times. When Megumi continued to be determined to speak to him, he would not even look at her. While this did not deter her, he did it for a self-serving purpose of feeling as though she deserved it. Every night he ensures the window screens are closed because she is stalking him and it makes him uncomfortable. He treats her with a great deal of contempt, a feeling he has for many people in his life. Even her death did nothing to change his feelings.
Despite everything, Natsuno does have a softer side. This more relaxed side to his personality only seems to appear when he is around Tohru Mutou, a friend he only made very reluctantly. As much as he hates his first name, he will sometimes let the matter drop, since Tohru's goal in life seems to be to call him Natsuno. He will spend time with his friend, playing video games or just hanging out at his house, and these are the times that he can relax and be a regular teenage boy. He is supportive and caring towards him, such as when Tohru asked him to come along to ask this girl out. He seldom smiles, but when he does, he is in Tohru's company. However when Tohru dies, he does not cry, because he believes he is going to return. Upon his return, he offers him the chance to run away with him, to leave Sotoba together, as he holds no loyalty to the village.
The biggest asset to his personality is his intelligence. His entire motivation is to leave Sotoba, and to do this he relies on his intelligence and his abilities in school. His inquisitive nature and deductive reasoning allows him to be the first to become aware of the movements of the Shiki, although this may not have happened if Megumi had stopped stalking him. He is however, not terribly street smart, and his actions of going around and starting to ask questions led to the Shiki becoming aware of his own movements. When the process of his slow, agonizing death begins, he leaves some rationality behind, putting faith in religious talismans and symbols in an effort to stop the inevitable. Prior to that, it appears he held the same belief as his family did, that it wasn't the truth of the world.
He still desires above all else, to leave Sotoba, and for once his dreams include Tohru. He makes peace with his father, letting go of the hatred and anger as he doesn't need it anymore. Not even when his father takes actions he disagrees with, does he feel any more anger towards him. Ever determined, even on the last night of his life, he asks Tohru once more to leave with him. He then lets go, resigning himself to his fate.
Natsuno's death affects his personality a great deal. All of his anger and hatred gains an entirely different focus - the Shiki, rather than the village or his family. He is not loyal to the village in any way, however, he is certainly not loyal to the Shiki either. They did kill him, and his best friend, after all. He is not happy to be one of the Risen, and feels that if he has died, then he should be dead. He believes the same for everyone in that situation. He begins to lead a secretive life, not letting anyone know he is alive until the last possible second. To ensure the success in his revenge, he does collaborate with the town's doctor, however he would rather be alone and do everything alone. He continues to count on his intelligence to fuel his plans and desire for revenge and vengeance. His plans include a suicidal factor as since he believes he is an abomination of sorts, he fully intends to die with the other Shiki. He hates what he has become as much as he hates his enemies. He holds his afterlife with no regard whatsoever. He does not believe in partaking in human blood, however he is forced to change this when his plans are interrupted by one of the Shiki, and he needs to make adjustments and save one of the villagers. Having seen what the Jinrou are like, he comes to detest the power they hold.
Continued
A Jinrou is Shiki's equivalent of a werewolf. Therefore he will be converted to the Lei tribe, taking on a canine appearance, while maintaining a mostly human look.
Class:
Natsuno is an intellectual type of person, not much of a fighter - as proven by the fact he was easily overpowered by Tatsumi. He has a desire to be stronger, but he has always lacked the physical build to be tough and violent. He'd rather be a spellcaster over a sword master and therefore he would select the Shadow Warlock class.
Abilities:
As a Jinrou he had access to heightened senses, the ability to see in the dark. He also had an accelerated healing ability, hypnotism/voice manipulation, levitation and super speed.
In this setting some of these skills would translate over well once he got to level fifteen. He could gain a healing boost, an agility/speed boost, a charm spell that he can activate with tone of voice. Levitation would mean floating above the ground about a foot in the air. *
Ironically, he has a decent amount of skill with video games as he used to play with Tohru frequently.
Items:
Being deceased, he has no items he wishes to bring with him.
Other:
*The abilities are subject to the mod's approval, no hard feelings if this is not acceptable.

Third Person:
The moment Natsuno opened his eyes, the world came crashing down around him. There was something wrong with his vision, his perception completely changed. Sharpened. He thought to himself as he sat up slowly raising a hand up to his head.
He remembered his last moments clearly, the desperation he felt gasping for air, the painful sparks shooting throughout his abdomen as his liver and kidneys shut down... Every breath that followed the cold tears of the undead. Natsuno remembered every moment he lay there dying.
He turned his head, gazing upon the shocked faces of the mortuary workers and his father who crossed the distance and embraced him. Natsuno made a face. There was so much bad blood between them, so much he could hardly forgive. It was then he noticed the crazed look in the man's eyes, the fatigue and the sorrow and he immediately felt the sting of regret at his thoughts. After all, it wasn't like his father hadn't loved him in some capacity, but rather that they never saw eye to eye on anything. Words were being spoken, but he was too shell-shocked to pay them any mind. The men were leaving, leaving him alone with his father.
Disengaging from his father's embrace, Natsuno raised a hand to his chest. He felt his heart in there, thumping away. His skin was still warm to the touch and he appeared very much alive. His eyes focused on his father again, tracing the line of his jaw and his neck and he felt it - the twin pricks of fangs growing from behind his teeth. He was most certainly, absolutely undead. He swallowed, distracting himself by glancing at the open window.
His father was speaking to him again. Natsuno gave him an appraising look. This man who would believe nothing of the supernatural, nothing of the superstitious and had thwarted every chance he had at survival. He could be the key. Natsuno needed an ally.
He willed his fangs to retract again and turned a smoldering look into his father's eyes.

We would also like to make a note about passive abilities. Passive abilities will not be available to the character naturally, even after reaching level 15, so as to keep the power balance of characters in the same level range equal. So to clarify: Natsuno could at this time gain the hovering and the charming spell when he reaches level 15?
no subject
The other route is to use the alternate method to regain it as a passive ability, which would not require SP and could be used indefinitely.
Essentially, Natsuno would lose his hovering, charming, night vision, etc, until A. They unlock as a spells at level 15 or B. He finds a method of regaining it as a passive ability.

Canon: Sword Art Online
Canon Point: End of Mother’s Rosario
Appearance: In the front! It probably looks more or less the same albeit with the addition of some wave patterns on her clothing. If she isn’t allowed to keep her pointed ears, they’ll be rounded as well.
Personality: If you asked someone to describe Yuuki, it would sound like they were describing an almost perfect being. She’s the Absolute Sword, a powerful player in ALO who has never been defeated in battle and boasts an amazing Original Sword Skill. Despite the many hardships she’s endured, she always smiles brightly and never complains, pushing ahead and doing her very best, reassuring everyone that she’s doing well even when she’s suffering so much.
This isn’t entirely untrue. But it also is by no means entirely true, either.
Yuuki Konno is someone who grew up cursing her fate. Although she lives vigorously, she admits herself that as a child, she questioned why she and her family suffered the way they did. Being Christian, her mother would always pray to God about their troubles, something Yuuki originally felt annoyance at. It wasn’t until later in her life that she realized her mother was praying for the sake of Yuuki and her sister – it was a way of showing her love for her daughters. Indeed, the circumstances of her illness and family situation have forced her to become very wise at a young age. She’s been through a lot, and as a result she’s come to unique conclusions on how to live her life.
The most obvious one is her cheery demeanor. Although it started off as an act she put on for her parents’ sake, she later came to the realization that being upset and depressed with her situation for all of what little time she had left was counterproductive. So with that in mind, she decided to present herself as strong and energetic without caring too much for what others thought of her. This most obviously plays into her actions when she advises Asuna on a tough situation involving other players who blocked the way between her group and the boss they intended to take down: sometimes, things must be dealt with forcefully. And indeed, that’s exactly what they did to push through.
However, even though she may present herself as strong, in truth she has her moments of weakness – moments she is painfully aware of. All of the deaths in her family on top of her own illness have taken their toll on her, and though the scars have mostly scabbed over, certain events can certainly tear them open all over again. When she grew too attached to Asuna and mistakenly referred to Asuna as though she were talking to her deceased sister, she proceeded to vanish from the game entirely. It tends to be very specific things that trigger it, but she can have a hard time dealing with emotional distress in a calm and collected manner and often has to look to others who can for aid, assuming she doesn’t try to run from the situation in its entirety. Trying to get painful details out of her can be difficult if not impossible without a lot of persistence.
Still, when all is said and done, she’s a bright kid with a forceful personality and maybe just a little mischievous. She’s incredibly well-adjusted to MMO life, given that she’s spent the past three years of her life continuously hooked up to virtual reality, and her charisma is such that she can get along with people very quickly, even if it starts off with her dragging someone completely new into various shenanigans. She’s got a surprising amount of interest in mundane life (school, reality in general) since she’s been cut off from it for so long, but she’s also accepted the realities she now lives in and makes the best of them.
…Or did, anyway.
Race: Human
Class: Twin Blade
Abilities:
Keeping in mind that she is using her ALO avatar with its game abilities…
Personal:
-Reaction speed; it’s so inhumanly fast, it may as well qualify. Where many people would take a hit because they don’t have time to block or dodge, Yuuki generally has the speed to manage those actions due to being more than likely the fastest character in ALO.
-Mother’s Rosario; an 11 hit 1-handed sword skill that she created herself. Doesn’t work unless she’s got a single blade, however.
Racial:
-Flight; a power granted to all Player Characters in Alfheim Online, as they are all fairies. Her wings are a semi-transparent black and bat-like, although she can also hide them when they are not in use. Notably, she can fly using manual controls (that is, “feeling” and using her wings instead of using a joystick that appears for less skilled players.)
-Underground Flight; a specialty of those who chose the Imp race for their characters. Where most players can only fly where there is light, Imps continue to have some flight ability even underground. Translates as limited flight in dungeon areas.
-Wall Run; an ability of lightweight classes that allows them to run at such a speed, they are able to run on walls. The normal limit is 10 meters, but with Yuuki’s speed it’s probably closer to 30 meters before she drops.
-Night Vision; allows for sight even in near total darkness.
Items: A full set of Legendary level gear, none of which is named.
Other: All of her previously used equipment will be for the sole sake of “masking” her equipment in the World since we don’t ever get any stats or details on the items aside from more or less “really powerful, top-tier player equipment suitable for a boss raid.”
SAMPLES;
Third Person: ”Bye-bye!” She called out the words enthusiastically while she waved, the players she’d teamed up with until that point vanishing before her very eyes. It was a sight she’d gotten used to in the few days she’d spent in The World, and one that never really struck her as all that odd.
After all, this wasn’t the first time she was fully immersed when others were not.
Still, in those days she could have logged out too, but The World was a bit trickier in that department. Placing her hands on her hips, she let her gaze slide over Mac Anu. “So-! Where should I sleep tonight?”
It was probably the toughest part of this new lifestyle to adjust to, but somehow or another, she managed. Having no way to log out on top of no guild to give her a room, she had no other option but to stay on the streets. It wasn’t the best situation, but she had found that even when she considered joining a guild to get a roof over her head for these times, it left a bad taste in her mouth. Somehow, it felt a bit like betraying the precious memories she had made in her previous guild, and she couldn’t stand the thought for more than a few minutes.
Thus, the street it was.
Ignoring the looks she was getting, she strode over to a shaded corner and sat herself down, leaning her head against an adjacent building. As always, people began to stare; her movements were always a touch more lifelike than most, and more than once had she been questioned on which command she used to make her character move that way. But that, too, was something she simply had to put up with.
With a quiet yawn, she began to murmur her nightly prayer to herself, keeping her words low enough that the other players weren’t likely to hear. “…until our death. Amen.”

Other Characters: Luna [Virtue’s Last Reward]
CHARACTER;
Age: It’s never stated, but she should be around 14
Canon: Log Horizon
Canon Point: Just after Rudy’s near-death and resurrection at the Cathedral
History: Nothing is really known about her history in the human world, so I will briefly detail her time spent in Elder Tale.
Following the Apocalypse - the event that trapped thousands of players in the world of Elder Tale - Isuzu was still a novice player. As such, she was in the perfect position to be preyed upon by guilds looking to score some easy money. The guild Hamelin managed to convince her to join them, and she was taken advantage of, her EXP Pot stolen from her every day in exchange for food and lodging.
Hamelin turned out to be an abusive guild, not just in stealing from their new members, but also in treating them like absolute trash and frequently hitting them to prove points or taking them into battles that they were doomed to lose. So when Shiroe and his guild Log Horizon offered their help, through Isuzu’s friend Minori, she was one of the ones to escape from the clutches of the overbearing guild.
At that point, she joined the Crescent Moon Alliance, as they were in large part in charge of the help with escaping from Hamelin. It was a much safer environment for new players, and they willingly took in all of the escapees who wanted a safe place to belong to.
Soon after joining the Crescent Moon Alliance, the newly formed Round Table held a training camp for new players. Isuzu attended in order to strengthen herself and grow more accustomed to battle. Her team consisted of herself, Tohya, and Minori - all of whom had escaped from Hamelin - as well as Serara - a girl who had been nearly captured and tortured in another town - and Rundelhaus Kode - a young boy who seemed to travel entirely on his own. Their initial attempts at the dungeon they were presented with were complete failures. There was no teamwork involved and they fell apart in battle.
However, with Minori’s insistence and instructions, they were able to become a fully functioning, highly in tune team. In particular, Isuzu became very close with Rundelhaus (Rudy), her teamwork with him reaching heights that it didn’t with the others in the group. Also during this time, she mistakenly discovered the Rudy was one of the People of the Land - an NPC - and so knew that if he died while adventuring, he would die for real, unable to be resurrected at the Cathedral like all of the other adventurers.
It was at this point that the Goblin King’s army started to attack, focusing greatly on the city near where the training camp was being held. Isuzu’s team willingly offered themselves to help protect the city, and in one of the ensuing battles, Rudy was killed. Minori pleaded for Shiroe to come and find a way to restore Rudy’s life, and Isuzu was extremely broken up by the fact that she should have stopped Rudy from fighting - especially since she knew that he would die permanently if his Hit Points reached zero.
Through the invention of a new spell, Shiroe managed to resurrect Rudy and give him the powers of an adventurer - including respawns in the Cathedral. Isuzu did not wait around with the rest of her team when Rudy died after that and was sent to the Cathedral, but instead used a return spell to go back to the city. All so she could hit him on the head over and over and over again for being such an idiot and make him promise to never do something so stupid ever again.
Appearance: Look at this cutie here wow
There will be very few alterations to Isuzu’s outfit in The World. Namely, her little orange poncho will be much longer, as a sort of robe/dress, with a flair at the bottom. She will also have a green fan to match her gloves and hat.
Personality: Isuzu is a very determined, highly energetic young girl. She puts a lot of effort into bettering herself and also her companions. She surrounds herself with people that she thinks highly of and respects, and goes all out to protect those people. Despite being from a class that doesn’t do any high damage, she is more than willing to physically fight off attackers, as well as setting up support for her party members at the same time. Teamwork is the sort of thing that comes almost naturally to Isuzu, as evidenced by the fact that she easily started working as a team with Rudy in their very first dungeon encounter, despite the later defeat they faced as a group.
When she succeeds at something, Isuzu can get very excited, but she never lets it get in the way of her continued performance. But there’s a certain delighted light that creeps into her eyes that shows just how proud of herself she is. On the opposite side, if she fails, she can get very irritated more than sad. The irritation is mostly inflicted inwards and pushes her to try and figure out what it was that she has done wrong.
Isuzu is very enthusiastic about music. She loves her class deeply for this reason, and plays her lute every single day. She also seems to be quite knowledgeable about musical terms and types, so it’s no stretch to assume that she was proficient at an instrument in the real world as well.
She cares very deeply for her friends, every single one of them. In particular, this can be seen in the way she desperately attempts to keep Rudy from going into battle after discovering that he is a Person of the Land. When that inevitably failed, she tried her hardest to protect him on the battlefield, even yelling at him to not do something reckless that she knew would get him hurt or killed. Of course, he didn’t listen to her.
Rather than blaming him for his impending death, Isuzu blamed herself, even though she was urged not to. She took the loss very hard, unable to stop crying until she was forced into a position to try and maintain his body, at which point her determination won out again, allowing her take control of her emotions and focus on the spells that she needed to perform.
When Rudy was successfully recovered, she wasted no time in yelling at him and hitting him over the head multiple times. This shows that she is not the sort of person to be trifled with. If you have upset her, she is going to berate you properly for it, whether you are friend or foe. It’s a sort of volatile reaction, but it’s done in the best interest of those close to her. Because as soon as Rudy promises to stop misbehaving, she is immediately all smiles again, and delight at seeing her friend alive again.
In summation, Isuzu is a very sweet girl who cares deeply about her friends. She is quick to show emotion - in particular happiness - but her determination is the driving force of her personality, allowing her to overcome her own shortcomings in times of crisis to help her friends.
Race: Human
Class: Macabre Dancer
As she was a bard in Elder Tale, it only makes sense for her to stick to a musical class of some kind, especially since the Macabre Dancer deals mostly in status boosts or deflations, with minimal attack, much like the bard class.
Abilities: Isuzu has no real abilities that are not initially attributed with her character in Elder Tale. A few of those abilities can be found below:
-Coward’s Fugue (makes it so that damage to an enemy done by anything other than a fighting class seems much less than it is)
-Round Carol (repeats an attack made by a magic-using party member if set up in advance)
-Resonance Beat (uses a weapon to cause a shockwave that affects the enemies, allowing teammates to cause even more damage when they hit while the spell is in effect)
Isuzu also has the ability to play stringed instruments, lutes and guitars in particular.
Items:
Howling Spear: Magical-class weapon obtained from . The "Howling" prefix increases the effects of Bards special abilities slightly
Walnut Decorated Hat: An accessory that drops from the mob which appear in the quest "A Tuners Worry". Its fashionable color matches Isuzu's taste, although the defense it provides is a bit low.
Crescent Moon Lute: A stringed instruments that resembles a guitar, it was crafted by Maryelle who is a Woodcrafter. One of the handmade items prepared by the members of the for the runaway beginners from . Isuzu uses it almost every day.

Third Person:
The clatter of a large green fan hitting the ground resounded, followed quickly by Isuzu’s irritated yell of displeasure. The girl could be seen stomping heavily over to the fan and snatching it up again.
“I just can’t hold onto it right!” She gripped the fan once more, trying to hold it in such a way that it could be used for anything other than fanning herself, only to drop it again as her hand cramped up. “D-Damn…”
Frowning down at the fan, she pulled a foot back to kick it, only to pause there, her foot in mid-air, to reconsider what she was doing. If she couldn’t get the hang of this, she was doomed in this world. She needed to be able to handle this new weapon, no matter how infuriating it was. With a sigh, she lowered her foot and picked up the fan again.
“Geeeez. You’d think that making me wear a dress was enough, but I have to deal with this too…” She was grumbling, but it was obvious from her set that she wasn’t going to be giving up anytime soon. “Okay! Let’s try this again!”

Personality (ct'd):
On the topic of Isuzu's shortcomings, there are two large things in particular that bring her down on a normal basis. Firstly, she deals with a lot of emotional upheaval. Being a young, teenage girl, it is not uncommon for her emotions to the get the better of her, and they are usually to extreme degrees in one way or another. For instance, her celebrations upon completing something correctly, her devastation at losing Rudy, or her rage at him for doing something so stupid - these are all emotions that she immediately acts on by instinct and then has to forcefully push back in order to continue forward in a productive manner.
Secondly, Isuzu has an unfortunate tendency to sell herself short, both to herself and to those around her. She thinks very little of herself and her abilities, especially since so much of what she does (in game) are simply status boosts. This is evidenced a number of times through the series - during the time that she is trapped by Hamelin and escape is offered, she is immediately uncertain if that is something that they (or more likely SHE) could pull off, and then when she first teams up with the other beginners in LaGranda Forest, she off-handedly speaks about one of her spells as if it is nothing, not important, a useless thing, even though the others are commenting on how useful it sounds.
However, while these things continue to be hills for Isuzu to overcome, she perseveres, especially with the help of her friends to drive her towards a better self.

Canon Point: Pre-death
History: This is what we know about Claudia in canon. As we don't know much about her life outside of her role in her husband (and daughter)'s backstory, I have fleshed it out here: Appearance:
Claudia is frail and delicate in body, with very pale skin and white, wavy hair. Her eyes are yellow in color, with one of them scarred over and always concealed by an eyepatch. Due to the nature of her condition, her body has a number of scars all over it, none of which fade much even after a long period of time; for the most part, she keeps those covered, too. In the World, her clothing will take the appearance of an armored dress: white cloth and pale metal, with lace and delicate detailing.
Personality:
Kirei says his wife was a saint, and his assessment is hard to argue with. Claudia can check off every box on the list—both good and bad. She's patient and forgiving, willing to withstand poor behavior in order to encourage good, but also unwilling to stand up for herself or become angry when she's treated poorly. She's loving and nurturing, willing to care for and support even strangers in their time of need, but she ignores her own wants and needs in the process. She's innocent, but her purity of mind can't be separated from her sheltered naivety. And, above all, she's pious, her faith in God and His benevolence boundless and unfailing, and yet at the same time blind to opposing views and even objective failures of the Church. Her unshakable "goodness" becomes a double-edged sword.
Not that most people would realize that at a glance. On the surface, she's just unfailingly sweet and friendly, always willing to offer a kind word or gesture to the people around her regardless or whether she knows them or not. She hates seeing people unhappy, and she'll do whatever it takes to stop them from being such. She's perfectly genuine about this, too—other than simply being nice, she's deeply empathetic, and as such she comes to care for others quickly, easily becoming invested in their personal struggles. Furthermore, she's willing to try to understand the behaviors and motivations of even the cruelest of people, and she's easily moved to tears by the hardships other people have had to endure.
Of course, you can't be a saint without a little self-sacrifice, and Claudia has that in spades, too. In fact, she has a little too much of it. She's perfectly willing to throw away her health, her happiness, and even her life for the sake of other people, taking altruism and turning it into martyrdom. Case in point: Her willingness to commit suicide in the hopes that feeling sadness at her death would allow Kirei to be ultimately happy. Sure, the circumstances there were a little extreme—she cares about her husband immensely, even by her standards, and she was on her deathbed anyway—but it's really just an expression of her normal behavior taken to the highest degree.
Ultimately, this pattern of ignoring her own needs and desires arises from her distorted self-image. She sees herself as worthless and lacking in intrinsic value as a person, utterly insignificant but for her ability to do good for other people, be that on an individual personal level or by fulfilling a role for the Church. She doesn't even hate herself. She would have to care about herself to do that, and if her tendency to run her already sickly body ragged proves anything, it's that she doesn't. This also causes her to blame herself for things that are ultimately beyond her control, since if she can't help others, what use does she have? If only she had been able to do a little more...
Of course, saint or not, she's still a person. She does have negative feelings, and she does want things. However, negativity and desire are both things she suppresses and ignores, and doing something just because it will make her happy isn't something she is capable of without guilt. In her mind, resentment, anger, and want are all selfish emotions that she should be above, regardless of how justified or innocent they are. And when she does feel those things, she is seized with feelings of moral failure. If she was a better person, she wouldn't think that way. How could she be so awful, feeling something like that? In fact, she's so awful that God probably caused whatever made her feel that way to begin with, just to punish her. Which she deserves. Because she's awful. Her looping, self-reinforcing logic makes it hard for her to deal with the issue rationally.
CRAU: N/A
Race: Human, since she is an unremarkable human!
Class:
Edge Punisher. In canon, Claudia is physically weak and delicate, so I thought it would be fun to give her one of the most sturdy and combat-oriented classes available. And, seeing as she has been ill all her life, she would probably enjoy that more than the healing or support class you would expect from someone with her personality! If she were an AU character rather than a jamjar one, she would almost certainly pick a physically powerful class as a form of wish-fulfillment, and even as a jamjar she will enjoy having the chance to be the strong one for once.
Abilities:
Masochistic Pneumatic Automatism Diathesis- Caren was stated to have inherited her psychic ability from her mother. This is basically a rare power that allows a person to act as a radar for demons, as when they're near a person who is possessed, they experience pain and even physical wounds. This can even happen when they're simply around someone whose thoughts and actions are sufficiently "dark" or "evil."
Items: Her Bible, her wedding ring, and a family photo album. YEP.
Other: Nothing that I can think of...!

( video; set after a few months in game )
[Today on the BBS: a video of a small, pale woman. She's smiling, and though there's a faintly awkward edge to it, she doesn't seem shy so much as unused to addressing large groups of people like this.]
Hello! I'm never really sure how to start this kind of thing, so I guess I'll get right to the point, hm? [She chuckles, and there's that same uncertain edge to it.] My name is Claudia, and I've been, ah, playing for few months now. I just wanted to let new players know that if you're ever in need of an escort, you're free to contact me. Dungeons can be rough sometimes, especially when you're still learning! [She claps one armored fist into her open palm.] I know I might not look like much, and there are certainly people more skilled than I am, but I think I've gotten pretty good at this kind of job. So... So you know.
[As her voice peters out, she presses her lips together, seeming unsure—and then something occurs to her, and she rushes to add:]
...Ah, and it's a free service! You're welcome to tip, I suppose, but I wouldn't feel right asking for anything in return. [One last bright, awkward smile for the camera, and she says:] And now that's really all, I think. Send me a message anytime.
